Diversity Equity and Inclusion

In order to benefit from the unique perspectives that different individuals bring there is a need for psychological safety and respect.

“It is not our diversity which divides us; it is not our ethnicity, or religion or culture that divides us. Since we have achieved our freedom, there can only be one division amongst us: between those who cherish democracy and those who do not.”

- Nelson Mandela -

How it Works

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is not a separate consideration in our work – it has always underpinned and been at the heart of what we do and how we do it!  Whilst the tragic murder of George Floyd shone light on this topic and pushed the agenda to the forefront for many organisations it has always been absolutely core to our work. Rajwant started her career in racial justice work in the 1980s and the challenges continue. At times it feels we have done more in ‘re-branding’ of the agenda than we have in delivering real outcomes. The need is to move from ‘symbolism to substance’.

Our Expertise

Whilst DEI is embedded and integrated in all aspects of our work we are, at the same time, very aware that there are times when specific focus on specific areas is required to build and further enhance capability to effectively deliver organisational priorities. Our aim is to support organisations to harness the talent and capability of all their staff in ways that enables them to benefit from the creativity and innovation resulting from a diverse, inclusive workforce. Research by a leading consultancy, in 2019, highlighted the positive correlation between diverse, inclusive workforce and better financials.

Our bespoke programmes are designed to move beyond mere ‘symbolism’ to actual ‘substance’ – it is about moving conversations around DEI in ways that enable participants to take meaningful action from a place of resourcefulness as opposed to anxiety and fear of ‘getting it wrong’. We do this by offering a range of frameworks and tools to build skills, capability and confidence in working effectively across difference.

Our ‘Courageous Conversations’ programmes are designed to enable participants to build the ‘muscle’ of participants to engage in conversations across difference and to again tap that difference as a resource.
